• July 31, 2012 — Guest post at Mark McGuinness’ Lateral Action titled “4 Ways Self-Employment Is Less Risky than Getting a Job” There’s also an article about my Lateral Action column written by Marissa Brassfield at PayScale: Is Self-Employment Less Risky Than Getting a Job? Marissa gets the point that artists are ahead of others as far as how to do business in the new age. She says “Canfield’s final point is perhaps the most salient: self-employment places a greater value on your time and effort.” I say “Amen to that.”
