Relentless Writing Project
I’m writing a book, 200 words per day, all year long. (If you’re a regular reader, go ahead and head over to the latest bit, and bookmark that page.)
I was looking for some project I could do every day, all year long, mostly to teach myself persistence, but partly to have a worthwhile end result. I couldn’t come up with anything.
Tom Bentley, ever the obviist, pointed at the horse I was riding and said “Your horse, sir, is right beneath you.” Sure; why shouldn’t a writer write a book, as Johnny Cash says, one piece at a time?
Of course, I muffed it completely and forgot to write on the 5th of January, fer cryin’ out loud. (Edit: and a couple times since. January’s not even over. Huh. ‘nother edit: February, too; let’s assume it’s a habit, deal with it, and move on.)
No excuses. Write two, make it up, move on.
It’s about relentless, not relenting.
Start at the beginning, with the first post, and move forward. If you’ve been keeping up, you’ll just want the most recent post.
There’s also a bit of other stuff, written for other reasons and resting here on their way elsewhere.
