Hi Joel,

Hope you had a great weekend. I was reading on this link (again) and was looking at the Media Kit piece. Is this something you do?

What’s the difference between a book summary and the description on the back of the book?

I saw your weekly email with the start of my loooong run of questions. Looks like I still haven’t run out so I’ll keep giving you plenty of fodder for that. :)

I haven’t done any personal appearances for my books in a long time, but yes, Sue always had this prepared.

We print our own stuff at home, so we’d modify the summary to be more specific to the group I was speaking to, if it made sense. Otherwise, the copy on your book should be the most compelling and intriguing copy you’ve got, so use it.

Yup, I took a break over the weekend, but you’ll be starring all week long!

Thanks, as always, for the info. I think I will put something together and go from there. I’m not ready to tackle the book stores yet, but I will get that going after I am back from vaca in Sept.

The first print proof came back too dark on the cover. So I’m waiting for the second proof after lightening the cover and tweaking the inner guts just a bit. I’m in PA this week with work so I cheated and had it shipped to the hotel so I could get it here instead of waiting until I got back home to see it.

Got my first review on Amazon so I was excited for that.

Have a few folks that are waiting for a print copy, so I know I’ll have a few sales there once that piece is done.

Started this weekend tackling the last edits on book 2. I can probably have that done by the end of early Oct. Where this is a sequel I was planning to wait till early 2014 to release book 2…mostly to give me the time to get everything done. But I think I could get it done earlier than Jan. Do you think I should wait, or does it matter how quickly book 2 releases? Does it matter if their copyright year is 2013 for both?

I’m not sure if I should let Book 1 build up some steam or get #2 out to help them both pick up steam. Thoughts?

That link I mentioned in the first email said to not release a book without a second one being written. Well I blew that one. :) But the second one is REALLY close to being done.

Never hold a book up unless there’s a really super release date (I released 6 books on 11/11/11 even though some were done earlier.)

If people see that book 2 is already available they won’t sit on the fence about buying book one now, or later?

By the way, having a book proof shipped there is not the usual cheating that goes on in hotels. Thought the word choice was funny.

Gotcha on the release dates. Thanks! I thought that too about someone maybe opting to just buy both if both were ready.

Funny about the hotel! I didn’t even think of the word choice there! haha
